Pregnancy & Postpartum Therapy

Bringing a child into the world is a beautiful, joyful, and extraordinary experience, but it can also be incredibly challenging and overwhelming. Many feel ashamed if they experience anything other than happiness during pregnancy or the postpartum time period.

In reality, most pregnant people experience a mix of emotions, including anxiety, excitement, worry, joy, fear, regret, guilt, or sadness about pregnancy and birth. Navigating postpartum depression, anxiety, or pregnancy loss can add complex feelings and layers to an already emotional time.

Postpartum Depression & Anxiety

While mood changes or "baby blues" are common during the perinatal period, up to

15-20%

of women may experience clinically significant anxiety and depression during pregnancy or postpartum.

Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) is also common after birth following experiences of birth trauma or pregnancy loss.

Pregnancy Loss

Unfortunately, about

 10-15%

of pregnancies result in miscarriage or loss, which can be a devastating and traumatic experience. Women often feel unable to openly discuss their loss due to stigma or shame. It's essential to break this silence to ensure that women do not carry the burden of grief alone.

Postpartum Support & Relief

Asking for help can be challenging, especially when we are often expected to be happy and joyful during pregnancy or after our baby is born. However, Iā€™m here to tell you that pregnancy and postpartum can be incredibly challenging, and that you are not alone if this is how it feels for you. This does not take away from how much you love your baby, or how amazing of a parent you are.

Seeking help can lead to better long-term outcomes for you, your child, and your partner. If you're feeling exhausted, angry, resentful, sad or anxious, overwhelmed, guilty - I hear you.
